A Student Who Remembers What Hard Feels Like
My name is Anna. I am a sophomore at Saint Francis High School, I came up through the Mandarin Immersion program at Orion, and I have now been studying Mandarin for ten years. Over the past year I also completed more than 70 hours of volunteer work with elementary school students through the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula.
That experience taught me how much I enjoy working with younger kids. I am best suited for students who do not have a native speaker at home, because I remember exactly which parts felt confusing when I was learning it myself.
Good To Know
01What ages and levels do you work with?
Elementary and middle school students, from complete beginners through intermediate learners. Students in Mandarin immersion programs or school language classes are a great fit, especially when there is no native speaker at home.
02Where do lessons happen?
My home in Redwood City, your home, or a nearby library such as the Redwood Shores or downtown branch. We pick the spot that is easiest for your family and go from there.
03What does it cost?
My rate is $20 per hour. There are no packages to buy and no long commitments: most families simply pay per session, or settle up at the end of the week.
